Project on Fort and Race Street Lot

We have a proposed development on 127 W. Fort Street.  The zoning board hearing is scheduled for May 10, 2011.

The original plans were for 8 homes and the developer increased the plans to 10 homes (2 homes per parcel).   6 of the 10 properties will be 4 stories.  There will be one parking space per house.

The developer is seeking admission to the parking program.  That would put an extra 40 permits and 10 visitor passes in our area and 480 party passes.

The date and duration of the project will be announced at a later date.

If you are interested or concerned about this project, we are planning to meet, if there is enough interest, to discuss the options to the neighborhood.

Plans:  *note- the forth story on Fort doesnt show b/c it is a setback and the drawing is in light blue which doesnt come through on the PDF.

The project sounds great – since I live across the street, my only concern is parking. Its going to become much more congested, given that there is only one parking spot provided per house. Is there any chance the city will move forward with the plan to make the 100 block of W Fort a one-way street? Thus allowing for diagonal parking? This at least would compensate for the 20 or so extra cars that will now be parking on the street.

I feel up to 30 more vehicles would have a significant negative impact on an already bleak parking situation.
